These days, with an ever-expanding amount of options, brands, and venues entering into the world of made-to-measure clothing, the venture of purchasing tailored clothing and shirting has become almost dizzying.
At J. Michaels, custom clothing was never considered an afterthought but rather has been the foundation of our business since the beginning.
Roughly twenty five years ago, J. Michaels began with a couple of guys, more than a few swatch-filled suitcases, and the prophetic, yet commonsense, philosophy that a businessman’s wardrobe should be the last thing on his mind but directly parallel to his own success.
What originated as simple, straightforward appointments in guys’ offices and homes developed into the premiere made to measure clothing shop in Tennessee. Unlike similar establishments, J. Michaels‘ relationships with over twenty hand picked made-to-measure manufacturers and fabric mills, including Oxxford, Southwick, H. Freeman, Zegna, Corbin, and Polo Blue Label, provide our customers with an expansive array of wardrobe options rather than a handful of personally owned manufacturers.

Could you give me an idea of what it would cost for a blue plaid Castangia sport coat (the one you have pictured on your site)?
Thanks,
Mike.
Mike,
Thanks for your question, sorry to not have gotten back to you sooner as we are in the midst of rehauling our blog and look forward to updating it on a more consistent basis. The Castangia sportcoat you are referring to is actually one that was part of their Spring 2011 collection and I no longer have it available in store. Castangia offers three different makes in their garments, with which pricing will vary considerably due to the differing levels of handwork in each make. However, what we’ve carried from Castangia in the past has ranged from $1300 and up as we have carried both their sportcoats and suits in store. Currently, I have just one item in from Castangia, a year round grey birdseye suit as we did not choose to carry the Castangia line for the Spring 2012 season. Let me know if it is the Castangia line you prefer or if you simply liked the look of that particular sportcoat as we offer so many different custom lines that we might be able to locate a fabric similar to have a garment made for you. Thanks again for your inquiry! – Miranda, J. Michaels Clothiers
